Owner: Melissa Mora, BSN, RNC-OB

Melissa is a second career nurse with over seven years of nursing experience specifically in obstetrics, gynecology, and neonatal care. Prior to nursing Melissa has more than 10 years of small business management and leadership experience to include project management, clinical informatics, grant writing, print and digital marketing, and accounting.   

 

Melissa began her nursing career at University Health System (UHS) in San Antonio, TX which is a level I Trauma Center, level IV NICU, level IV maternal designated and Magnet facility. She became chair of the Labor and Delivery evidence based practice committee where she was responsible for creating, editing, and revising policies and procedures, and leading the implementation of practice changes. Other achievements include precepting new nurses, maternal transport nurse, maternal transport educator, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Instructor, Quality Assurance Processes Improvement Committee, maternal designation program co-chair, UHS Nursing Excellence Award, UHS women's health Leadership Award & dewey decimal for most organized.

 

The last two years Melissa had the opportunity to travel to different areas across the country as a perinatal travel nurse. It was during her travel ventures that she envisioned Peak RN, a professional nursing development resource for nurses seeking career advancement. PeakRN LLC provides professional nursing development services to include perinatal nursing education, travel nurse contract negotiations, mentoring, and health content writing. Melissa has a passion for education, healthcare writing, women empowerment, mental and emotional wellness strategies, nutrition, functional movement, and community. Melissa and her husband Ryan are originally from San Antonio, TX, but now spend most of their time in the Eastern Sierra Nevadas.
