About the Event
This course addresses principles of fetal heart monitoring and may be used as a knowledge assessment tool to validate comprehension of experienced perinatal clinicians. This course includes lecture, hands-on skill station exercises about fetal heart rate auscultation, performing Leopold’s Maneuvers, placement of an intrauterine pressure catheter and fetal spiral electrode, interpretation of tracings, identification of physiologically based clinical interventions, communication, and documentation.

Format: Online prerequisite education, followed by a one-day, Instructor-led course
This course requires pre-course work that MUST be completed at least two (2) days before your in-person class. You can find the instructions in your required AWHONN student materials. The expected time to complete this prerequisite work is approximately 3.5 hours. If you do not finish the required pre-course materials, you cannot participate in the in-person course.
